Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire

Beaconsfield is an elegant market town in Buckinghamshire, well placed for AA Travels minibus and coach hire thanks to its fast rail link into London and easy access to the M40. The town is split between the historic Old Beaconsfield, with its coaching inns and period high street, and the newer area around the station, making it a popular base for both commuters and visitors.

One of Beaconsfield’s standout attractions is Bekonscot Model Village and Railway, widely recognised as the world’s oldest original model village and a classic family day‑out destination for schools and groups. Odds Farm Park, just a short drive away, is another big draw for families, combining farm animals with large indoor and outdoor play areas, tractor rides and seasonal events.
Old Beaconsfield itself offers characterful streets, traditional pubs, cafés and regular markets, ideal for relaxed shopping or lunch stops on a group itinerary. Nearby countryside in the Chiltern Hills provides plenty of scope for walking clubs or outdoor trips, while cultural spots such as the Chiltern Open Air Museum (a short drive from town) add educational interest for school and college groups.
Although Beaconsfield doesn’t host a major university campus within the town, it sits within the Buckinghamshire education corridor, with good road access to Buckinghamshire New University in High Wycombe and several further‑education colleges across South Bucks. That makes it a practical pickup point for AA Travels student transport, open days, residential trips and term‑time shuttles linking local schools and colleges with nearby attractions and transport hubs.
